For simplicity, I tried this: tc qdisc add dev eth0 root handle 1: prio tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 1:1 handle 10: sfq perturb 10 tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 1:2 handle 20: sfq perturb 10 tc qdisc add dev eth0 parent 1:3 handle 30: sfq perturb 10 tc filter add dev eth0 protocol ip parent 1: prio 2 flowid 1:1 The last line prints: Unknown filter "flowid", hence option "1:1" is unparsable I'm pretty sure that last line is almost exactly what is printed in the howto, translated for what I want. Did I need to add something else first?
