hi all,
i tried to install iproute this time differently on my RedHat7.3 system... i downloaded db4-1s24, build it & then tried to install iproute ver -- ss-020116... providing the path to db4 include files in Makefile of iproute but it gavethis error...
gcc -D_GNU_SOURCE -O3 -Wstrict-prototypes -Wall -g -I../include-glibc -I/usr/local/include/db4 -include ../include-glibc/glibc-bugs.h -I/usr/src/linux-2.4.19/include -I../include -DRESOLVE_HOSTNAMES -o arpd arpd.o ../lib/libnetlink.a ../lib/libutil.a -ldb
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -ldb
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [arpd] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/iproute2/misc'
make: *** [all] Error 2

earlier using default db3 rpms i didnt get these errors...i used the same procedure--installing db4..using ldconfig for lib file & placing the include file is include dir--by this i could install it in slackware...
what this error means ???..how i can i solve it .. ?
A.H
