Statement expression not needed, you can use the comma operator:

  i < (slots)->nmemslots && (memslot = @(slots)->memslots[i], true)

or even

  memslot = &(slots)->memslots[i], i < (slots)->nmemslots

or just kill i and make memslot the loop variable.
