Summary: install from iso fails on 2.6.23.8 kernel

Initial Comment:
Hi,

When trying to install debian-testing with kvm, I get as far as
"Configuring apt, scanning the mirror" and eventually a crash with a segmentation fault.

 qemu-img create -f qcow d.img 10G
 sudo kvm -cdrom debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso -hda d.img -boot d -m 1024

i'm running a custom kernel 2.6.23.8 on an x86-64 core 2 duo machine
built whith gcc (Debian 4.2.2-3).
kvm version is 52+dfsg-1, kvm-modules-2.6.23.8-x86-64 has 52+dfsg-1+2.6.23.8-x86-64-10.00.Custom

When running a distribution kernel (debian 2.6.22-3-amd64) there are no problems.
Also running an image once installed works allright under the custom kernel.
(I tried Windows XP, debian testing)

with --no-kvm flag there is no crash, but an error message
'Bad archive mirror"

regards
erik

Message:
Hi,

Looking through old bugs - this is against a very old kernel.

Are you still having these problems, or can we close the bug?

Thanks,
Jes
