this relies on the fact that the overhead between the actual exit and
the first stck combined with the overhead between the second stck and
the sie entry never exceeds 1µs. I think this is a little too tight,
maybe you can add 1ms instead?

also, are you sure that cpu1 could overwrite it? it's running in an
endless loop and IIRC we have all other interrupts disabled

I can imagine that this and the next snippet might be useful also
without PV, maybe remove "pv" from the name
