It's unexpected, but true.
This came up on the IRC channel last night. I would expect it to, but the person in the IRC channel didn't get extboot.bin from the tarball and none of the tags of 0.10.x I tried built it either.
I've fixed it on the stable-0.10 branch. I'll generate qemu-kvm-0.10.5.1 unless a qemu-0.10.6 looks forthcoming in a few days. Thanks for the report.
