I have now been on 4.14.21, 4.14.22, and 4.14.23, and I believe I am no longer seeing symptom since 4.14.21. Nothing leapt out at me from the change logs. I have been on 4.14.22 and now 4.14.23 for around two weeks without experiencing the hang whereas I could easily reproduce in minutes before. Can anybody who experiences this issue check to see if Linux 4.14.22 or Linux 4.14.23 solves the problem for you? Also please note that I have been using Fedora kernels, which means it is the upstream version plus the Fedora patches. I have had to drop some of the Fedora patches with the most recent versions as several of these patches are already upstream, and the implementation may not match up.
