Can you give more details about your setup? How is kvm involved?

>From you (way too short) description, I assume that you are running virtualbox
on Linux. Then you start a Linux 4.13 Linux guest using virtualbox (not kvm).

Which OS will lock up? The hypervisor? The guest?
Which OS are you running in the hypervisor?

If the guest locks up and you are only using virtualbox, chances are good that
this is a virtualbox bug and should be reported using their bug tracker.
