kvm-kmod for newer versions - Possibility?

Hello,

I've used kvm-kmod-3.10 a lot till now for development purpose but it
seems like it's not supported now since KVM releases are now synced
with Linux (and same git tree). This was super convenient.
It seems like kvm-kmod was dropped as it added maintenance.
Is my understanding correct?

If yes, are there any devs using kvm-kmod for a newer version which
they could share?

Are there any (very fundamental) changes which make it difficult to
maintain kmod or even get it working again for a recent version?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Harry
