exactly what is getting disabled, perhaps kvm-msr=on|off?  Thanks,

The capabilities are actually already available for selective disabling via CPUID features (search for kvm_feature_name). What's missing is a master property to disable the CPUID leaves themselves, so your patch provides exactly what's needed.
