I was hit by this question, hardware based hypervisor vs software based hypervisor, which is more secure ? KVM is more like a software based hypervisor. a bare metal hypervisor implementation would be a hardware based hypervisor. In my opinion, they are equally secure. However, it might be more easily to make mistakes (i.e. bugs) in software based hypervisor which will make the hypervisor insecure. any other opinions ?
