Strictly speaking, it's a GCC-ism, though we use it all over the place:

[mark@leverpostej:~/src/linux]% git grep '\[.*\.\.\..*\]\s=' | wc -l
394

It may also make checkpatch a bit grumpy, though I think that's being
worked on.
