Fail when booting guest os with the latest qemu from mainline or qemu-linaro

Hi all,

I've tried following command to bring up the guest os on host with mainline v3.11-rc6:

linaro@localhost:~$ sudo /mnt/qemu-system-arm -enable-kvm -kernel zImage -initrd initrd.cpio.gz -dtb guest-a15.dtb -m 512 -M vexpress-a15 -cpu cortex-a15 -smp 2 -nographic -append "console=ttyAMA0 mem=512M"
Initial read of kernel register state failed
kvm_init_vcpu failed: Invalid argument

Either qemu-linaro or mainline qemu failed to boot guest os. But using "QEMU emulator version 1.2.50 (qemu-linaro from git), Copyright (c) 2003-2008 Fabrice Bellard" instead is ok.

The 1.2.50 used the virtual open system's qemu with the branch kvm-arm-virtio.

Any idea anything might be wrong?
