Hallo,

I am using kvm-arm configuration on fast models, now i want to replace fast models with cycle accurate simulator for my experiments. I have come across something like that in
http://www.rowley.co.uk/arm/ .

Below i have problem which am facing regarding this, when i contacted cross works there is an issue they are saying which i don't know. Can anybody suggest me something after reading the below conversation.

I have linux kvm for arm running on cross compiled environment in my x86 using fast models simulation, i want to replace fast models simulation with cross works. Is this possible, since i saw in the cross works website it support arm Linux simulation ?

Michael Johnson, Feb 26 10:23 am (GMT):

No it isn't - the MMU isn't simulated.

http://www.rowleydownload.co.uk/arm/documentation/index.htm?http://www.rowleydownload.co.uk/arm/documentation/arm_simulator_target_interface.htm

In the above page manual for arm target Simulation by cross works, it says  the memory system simulated by the ISS is implemented by the
dynamic link library and associated parameter defined in the project's
simulator properties. What does this mean ?

Michael Johnson, Feb 26 10:49 am (GMT):

Different ARM devices have different memory layouts - this is abstracted into a DLL for the specific device. However the MMU simulation (was little there is of it) is built into the simulator. Did you consider using the stuff from OVP - I haven't used it but it may meet your requirements.
