NASA and PaR Systems to Showcase Unique Testing Equipment

NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida and PaR Systems Inc., of Shoreview, Minn., will host a media event from 10 a.m. to noon EDT, Wednesday, April 2, at the Hangar N facility on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.  The event will include a tour of the facility, demonstrations of nondestructive test and evaluation equipment, and interview opportunities with NASA and PaR Systems representatives. Members of the media should arrive at Kennedy’s News Center by 9:15 a.m. for transportation to the event.

One year ago, on April 2, 2013, Kennedy and PaR Systems signed a 15-year lease agreement for use of the facility and its equipment. This agreement allows NASA to preserve Hangar N’s unique inventory of equipment for future mission spaceflight support while enabling PaR Systems to utilize the equipment now for current aerospace, marine and industrial products services. PaR Systems is a privately held business specializing in process automation, robotic solutions and services for critical applications in demanding environments.

News media without permanent Kennedy credentials must apply for accreditation by noon on March 31. Two forms of government-issued identification are required to receive a badge, one with a photograph such as a driver’s license or passport. Badges will be available for pick up at the Kennedy Badging Office, located on State Road 405 east of the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Hours for the Kennedy Badging Office are 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.  International media accreditation for this event is closed.  Media must apply for credentials online at:

https://media.ksc.nasa.gov

Because the event will occur in an operational area, all attendees must be dressed in long pants, flat closed-toe shoes and shirts with sleeves.

Kennedy is positioning itself for the next era of space exploration, transitioning to a 21st century launch facility with multiple users, both private and government.
