June 27, 2012 Tracy Young Kennedy Space Center, Fla. 321-867-2468 tracy.g.young@nasa.gov MEDIA ADVISORY: M30-12 NASA INVITES MEDIA TO SHUTTLE ATLANTIS' MOVE TO VAB CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Media are invited to a photo opportunity as space shuttle Atlantis moves from its processing hangar to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) on June 29 at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Atlantis is scheduled to move at about 9:30 a.m. EDT. Media must arrive at Kennedy's Press Site by 8 a.m. for transportation to the event. Journalists without NASA Kennedy accreditation need to apply for credentials by close of business Thursday, June 28. International media accreditation for this event is closed. Badges may be picked up at the Kennedy Space Center Badging Office on State Road 405. Media must apply for credentials online at: https://media.ksc.nasa.gov Any updates on the move will be available at 321-867-2525. Inside the VAB, Atlantis will temporarily be stored while shuttle Endeavour undergoes transition and retirement processing. Atlantis is being prepared for public display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in 2013.
