Jan. 27, 2012 Tracy Young Kennedy Space Center, Fla. 321-867-2468 tracy.g.young@nasa.gov MEDIA ADVISORY: M06-12 NASA UPDATES MEDIA TWO SHUTTLE MOVE PHOTO OPPORTUNITY CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- The media photo opportunity of two space shuttles moving to different locations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, which had been set for Jan. 31, now is targeted for Wednesday, Feb. 1, and Thursday, Feb. 2. On Feb. 1, shuttle Endeavour will move from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to its processing hangar, Orbiter Processing Facility-2 (OPF-2). First motion of Endeavour is set for about 8 a.m. EST. Media must arrive at Kennedy's Press Site by 7 a.m. for transportation to the event. On Feb. 2, shuttle Atlantis will be moved from the VAB transfer aisle into the building's high bay 4. The start of Atlantis' move currently is under review. Updates on the moves will be available at 321-867-2525. Journalists without NASA Kennedy accreditation need to apply for credentials now by noon Jan. 31. International media accreditation for this event is closed. Badges can be picked up at the Kennedy Space Center Badging Office on State Road 405. Media must apply for credentials online at: https://media.ksc.nasa.gov In OPF-2, Endeavour will undergo preparations for public display at the California Science Center in Los Angeles in the second half of this year.
