Media should arrive at Kennedy's Press Site by 8:15 a.m. for transportation. Media will have an opportunity to photograph the engine and interview NASA officials at Kennedy's Space Shuttle Main Engine Processing Facility. The engines are being transported to Stennis where they will be stored for future use on NASA's new heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System. It will carry NASA's new Orion spacecraft, cargo, equipment and science experiments to space, providing a safe, affordable and sustainable means of reaching asteroids and other destinations in the solar system. Journalists without NASA Kennedy accreditation need to apply for credentials by noon Jan. 11. International media accreditation for this event is closed. Badges can be picked up at the Kennedy Space Center Badging Office on State Road 405.
