The full-scale shuttle model is being transferred from Kennedy to Space Center Houston, NASA Johnson Space Center's visitor center. The model will temporarily stay at the turn basin until it is transported via barge to Texas in the next several months. The move also helps clear the way for the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex to begin building a new facility next year to display space shuttle Atlantis in 2013. Reporters interested in just covering the start of the move at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex should contact Andrea Farmer at 321-449-4318 by Dec. 9 to RSVP.
