NASA INVITES MEDIA TO A TWO SHUTTLE MOVE PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Media are invited to a photo opportunity as
shuttles Endeavour and Discovery switch locations at NASA's Kennedy
Space Center, Fla., on Wednesday, Aug. 10, starting at about 8:30
a.m. EDT.

First, Endeavour will be backed out of Orbiter Processing Facility-1
(OPF-1). At about 9 a.m., Discovery will be moved out of the Vehicle
Assembly Building (VAB), and then both shuttles will be briefly
stopped outside OPF-3 for a "nose-to-nose" photo opportunity.
Discovery then will be rolled into OPF-1 and Endeavour into the VAB.

Media must arrive at Kennedy's Press Site by 7:30 a.m. for
transportation to the photo opportunity.

Journalists without NASA Kennedy accreditation need to apply for
credentials by 4 p.m. Aug. 9. New international media accreditation
for this event is closed. Badges can be picked up at the Kennedy
Space Center Badging Office on State Road 405 starting at 6 a.m. on
Aug. 10. Media must apply for credentials online at:

https://media.ksc.nasa.gov

Updates on the moves will be available at 321-867-2525.

In OPF-1, Discovery will undergo further preparations for public
display at the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum Steven F.
Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia next spring. Endeavour will be stored
in the VAB until October when it will be moved into OPF-2 for further
work to get it ready for public display at the California Science
Center in Los Angles next summer.

Highlights of the move will air on the NASA Television's Video File.
