NASA OBSERVES DAY OF REMEMBRANCE, CHALLENGER ANNIVERSARY

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- Kennedy Space Center, Fla., will observe
NASA's Day of Remembrance on Jan. 27 and the 25th anniversary of the

Challenger's STS-51L crew. The ceremony also will be held at the
Space Mirror Memorial and open to both media and the public.

Speakers at the memorial are: NASA Associate Administrator for Space
Operations William Gerstenmaier; June Scobee Rodgers, widow of
Commander Dick Scobee; Robert Cabana, former astronaut and Kennedy
center director; Michael McCulley, former astronaut and chairman of
The Astronauts Memorial Foundation; and Rick Soria, 2009 Alan Shepard
Technology in Education Award winner. The Astronauts Memorial
Foundation President Stephen Feldman will moderate the service.
