NASA'S KENNEDY SPACE CENTER HOLDS UNIQUE MEDIA EVENT

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. â?? Following rollout of space shuttle Endeavour 
from the Vehicle Assembly Building to Launch Pad 39B on Friday, April 
17, two shuttles will be on the launch pads at the same time at 
NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla., for what is expected to be the 
last time. 

The day's media activities begin with photo opportunity of the 
shuttle's rollout at 6:30 a.m. EDT and interview availability with 
Endeavour Flow Director Dana Hutcherson at 8:30 a.m. Live coverage of 
the move will be shown on NASA Television beginning at 6:30 a.m. 

Media also are invited to take imagery as the Rotating Service 
Structure, or RSS, is rolled back from shuttle Atlantis on Launch Pad 
39A and then capture a unique opportunity with both space shuttles on 
their respective pads with the RSS' rolled back from the spacecraft 
beginning at 1 p.m. 

Live shots of the two shuttles will be available on NASA Television 
from 1 to 6:30 p.m. Video b-roll of the shuttles, including aerial 
shots, will be available on the NASA TV Video File. For NASA TV

New media accreditation is closed for this event. Badges issued for 
Endeavour's rollout will be honored for both events. Reporters with 
Kennedy credentials planning to attend rollout should arrive at 
Kennedy's news center by 6 a.m. To attend Atlantis' RSS rollback and 
two shuttles media opportunity, journalists should arrive at the news 
center by 12 p.m. All participants must dress in full-length pants, 
flat shoes that entirely cover the feet and shirts with sleeves.
