Feb. 4, 2009 George H. Diller Kennedy Space Center, Fla. 321-867-2468 george.h.diller@nasa.gov MEDIA ADVISORY: 06-09 NOAA-N PRIME SATELLITE LAUNCH RESET FOR FEB. 5 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The next launch attempt for the NOAA-N Prime weather satellite for NASA and NOAA aboard a United Launch Alliance Delta II rocket is rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 5. The launch time again is 2:22 a.m. PST. The problem with the launch pad gaseous nitrogen pressurization system which caused the first launch attempt to scrub Wednesday was identified as a failed relay card. It has been replaced and the new card retested. The weather forecast has improved somewhat with a 60% chance of not meeting the launch weather criteria, primarily due to thick clouds. Launch coverage on NASA Television will begin at 12 a.m. For NASA TV downlink information, schedules and links to live streaming video, visit: http://www.nasa.gov/ntv For more information about the NOAA-N Prime mission, visit: http://www.nasa.gov/noaa-n-prime -end- To subscribe to the list, send a message to: ksc-subscribe@newsletters.nasa.gov To remove your address from the list, send a message to: ksc-unsubscribe@newsletters.nasa.gov
