KSC Offers Media View of Future in Space Through Tour of SLS Lab

Media are invited to tour the Space Life Sciences Lab at NASA's Kennedy Space Center at 10 a.m.
Thursday, Dec. 9, for an exciting update on current research activities supporting the Vision for
Space Exploration. Transportation to the SLS Lab will depart at 9:45 a.m. from the Gate 3 Pass and
Identification Building, located on State Road 405.

Scientists will discuss ongoing research being performed in support of future space exploration
initiatives. Topics will include space agriculture, biotechnology, microgravity, biomedicine and
conservation biology, among others.

The more than 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility officially opened in November 2003 and
is home to researchers of NASA, the University of Florida, NASA's Life Sciences Services contractor
Dynamac Corporation, Bionetics Corporation, and academia affiliated with the Florida Space Research
Institute.
