KSC Release No. 10-04

NASA DIRECT! TO HOST FIRST EDUCATION OUTREACH WEB CAST

NASA's Launch Services Program and Macon County Middle School in Franklin, N.C., will participate in the first NASA Direct! educational Web cast at 10 a.m. EST on March 31.

The Web cast is designed to provide students of the school with the unique experience of learning about the space program directly from NASA engineers and scientists.

Albert Sierra, NASA project manager at Kennedy Space Center, Fla., will answer questions presented by the students in a direct, interactive Web cast between NASA Direct! and the school. Sierra was mission integration manager for the launch of the Mars Exploration Rover Spirit in the summer of 2003.

NASA Direct! began two years ago and provides live, interactive public Web casts prior to NASA launches, as well as special Web events.

For more information about the Web cast, contact Dennis Armstrong at 321-867-2468.
