INVITED TO FINAL WALKTHROUGH OF COLUMBIA DEBRIS HANGAR A final planned media walkthrough of the hangar housing
the Space Shuttle Columbia debris is set for Thursday, Sept. 11. With STS-107 debris recovery and
reconstruction operations complete, the debris is currently being packed to
move to the KSC Vehicle Assembly Building for permanent storage. For the event, media are asked to meet
at the KSC press site at 1:30 p.m., for escort to the hangar. At the hangar, Scott Thurston, NASA Test Director, is
available to address the permanent storage plan for the Columbia debris. Media who desire to attend this event must make their
intentions known to the KSC Press Site by 10 a.m., Sept. 11. Media who do not currently possess KSC credentials should
submit their request on affiliation letterhead via fax to 321-867-2692. Request should include the following
