NOTICE TO EDITORS/NEWS DIRECTORS:
MISSION STS-107 WEB COVERAGE EVENTS SET

Kennedy Space Center's web coverage events have been set for the launch of
Space Shuttle Columbia on mission STS-107, scheduled for launch Thursday,
Jan. 16.

Cris Guidi will serve as host for all three of KSC Direct's STS-107
programs. Programming begins on Tuesday, Jan. 14 with Shuttle processing
specialist John Guidi and SPACEHAB specialist Mike Kinslow. NASA astronaut
Janice Voss, a veteran of five Shuttle flights, will join KSC Direct for
Thursday's launch day program.

Viewers will see informative programming highlighting the objectives of
mission STS-107, as well as the crew and payloads. During the program,
featured guests will answer questions submitted to the KSC Direct Question
Boards from space enthusiasts around the world. The KSC Direct! home page
and Question Boards are now available at
http://www.ksc.nasa.gov/KSCDirect/event2.htm.

In addition to KSC Direct, KSC's Live Launch Countdown site located at
http://www-pao.ksc.nasa.gov/shuttle/countdown/sts107/index.htm features
real-time updating as milestones occur during the countdown, keeping site
visitors informed with the very latest news. The Live Launch Countdown site
will also provide downloadable video clips of prelaunch and launch day
events. Videos will be available in RealMedia format in two sizes for users
with 56K modems or Cable/broadband connections.

Those who would like to test their knowledge of the STS-107 mission, crew
and payloads are invited to take the STS-107 Mission Quiz. The first 50
players to achieve a perfect score will receive an official VIP visitor
packet that includes a crew photo and mission patch.
