Release No. 89 – 02 SCUBA DIVER TO REUNITE WITH KSC WORKERS WHO HELPED SAVE HIMJack Wilcox, a lobster diver who
was rescued by the Freedom Star Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) retrieval team Sept.
11, is in good health after recovering from decompression sickness. He will be reunited Monday, Sept.
30, at 1 p.m., with the men who helped save him during a diving expedition 20
miles off shore in the Atlantic Ocean. The reunion with Wilcox and the
United Space Alliance booster retrieval team will be held at the Hangar AF
docks on the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Members of
the media will have the opportunity to interview Wilcox and the SRB team,
including Captain Dave Fraine, Jack Mullen, the USA retrieval supervisor aboard
Freedom Star; Andy Fish, the retrieval diver and diver medical technician who
attended Wilcox in Freedom Star’s recompression chamber. Media members who wish to attend
the event should arrive at the NASA News Center by 12:30 p.m. Sept. 30 to be
transported to the event. They will be returned to the News Center by 3 p.m. -- end -- |
