SHUTTLE & PAYLOAD PROCESSING STATUS REPORT

MISSION STS-112 -- 15TH ISS FLIGHT (9A) - BA, ITS S1

VEHICLE: Atlantis/OV-104
TARGET LAUNCH DATE: Oct. 2, 2002 NET
TARGET LANDING DATE: Oct. 13, 2002 
MISSION DURATION: 11 days 
CREW: Ashby, Melroy, Wolf, Sellers, Magnus, Yurchikhin
ORBITAL ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles, 51.6 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: Nominal processing continues for Atlantis' launch
to the International Space Station now scheduled for no earlier than Oct. 2.
Closeouts of the orbiter's aft compartment are in work and Hydraulic/Flight
Control Checkout is scheduled for this week. 
Engineering evaluation continues on the cracks found in the bearings located
in the JEL (jacking, equalization and leveling) cylinders on Crawler
Transporter No. 2. Technicians have removed and replaced 14 of the 32
bearings and reinstalled the seven cylinders in Crawler No. 2. Four
additional cylinders are in the process of being refurbished. Two more
cylinders will be removed today. The remaining bearings will be manufactured
and delivered in time to support the scheduled rollout for an Oct. 2 launch.

VEHICLE: Endeavour/OV-105
TARGET LAUNCH DATE: Nov. 2, 2002 NET
TARGET LANDING DATE: Nov. 13, 2002
MISSION DURATION: 11 days
CREW: Wetherbee, Lockhart, Lopez-Alegria, Herrington; (ISS up) Bowersox,
Budarin, Pettit; (ISS down) Korzun, Whitson, Treschev
ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 122 nautical miles/51.6 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: Processing continues for Endeavour's launch to the
International Space Station. Main Propulsion System flow liner crack welding
has been successfully completed. Preparations for Space Shuttle Main Engine
installation are in work with engine installation beginning as early as this
evening.


MISSION STS-107 -SPACEHAB/ FREESTAR MICROGRAVITY RESEARCH MISSION

VEHICLE - Columbia/OV-102
TARGET LAUNCH DATE: Jan. 16, 2003 NET
TARGET LANDING DATE: TBD
MISSION DURATION: 16 days
CREW: Husband, McCool, Anderson, Chawla, Brown, Clark, Ramon
ORBITAL INSERTION ALTITUDE AND INCLINATION: 150 nautical miles/39 degrees

Shuttle Processing Note: Nominal processing has been completed in
preparation for Columbia's research mission now scheduled for no earlier
than Jan. 16. 


ORBITER MAJOR MODIFICATION PERIOD

VEHICLE: Discovery/OV-103

Shuttle Processing Note: Sept. 1 has been identified as the date to begin
Discovery's Orbiter Major Modification period at KSC.
