I assumed it was a sparc-specific problem. On sparc64, I was seeing errors like the following: /usr/lib/gcc/sparc64-redhat-linux/4.4.7/../../../../lib64/libdw.a(lzma.o): In function `__libdw_unlzma': (.text+0x19c): undefined reference to `lzma_auto_decoder' But I tried building makedumpfile in an x86/64 VM, and also saw similar errors: /home/thromatka/git/elfutils-0.169/libdwfl/gzip.c:233: undefined reference to `lzma_auto_decoder' Perhaps it was the way I built elfutils?
