This is incorrect. KDE has no short or mid-term plan to stop supporting X11
for Plasma.

Plasma developers are currently working on solutions that will allow to have
RDP functionality working on Wayland. These are still in the WiP/proof of
concept stages (see here https://quantumproductions.info/articles/2023-08/
remote-desktop-using-rdp-protocol-plasma-wayland for example), but will be
incorporated into Plasma 6 over the next versions.
