2 x 10 = 40 in "CPU core count math" ;-) It's called Intel Hyper-Threading Technology

I suggest you file a bug report on bugs.kde.org, the size for this buffer should be determined dynamically.
(Or set to 640Kb which should be more than enough for all time ;) )
