Hi Duncan,
Thank you very much for the answer: long but relevant. Currently, I'm using only one application under KDE, it is RKWard, a graphical user interface for the R statistical computing environment. I'm not sure wich kind of "kde application" it is; I have to ask to the developers.
But I have another question, which should be answered fairly quickly, I hope.
I'm using KDE 4.7.0 under Windows XP SP3. I installed parts of KDE 4.7.0, just the necessary parts to run RKWard, following the instructions from the developper. I don't want to update to KDE 4.8.0 but only to install a package, which is in my case kde-workspace, which will install kcontrol (control settings or any other names). But, the Package Selection window tells me that the kde-workspace version available is 4.8. Is there a way to install kde-workspace 4.7 instaead of 4.8 ? In other words, is there a way to only install packages from the same version as the KDE version installed on my computer.
Thanks,
François
