Are you sure you don't have > a fontconfig problem? Dotan doesn't use Gentoo. AFAIK (from a different thread) he uses kubuntu. I'm a gentooer, as are Dale and Alex/Wonko, but not Dotan. But it could indeed be a fontconfig issue of some sort. That's why I asked about font type and aliasing and hinting, in my response. -- Duncan - List replies preferred. No HTML msgs.
