Our first replies crossed and you evidently didn't see mine before you posted. I (believe I) covered that there and you will have probably seen it by now, but just in case, a quick summary... The XDG autostart path is for *.desktop files, while the kde autostart path is for executables/scripts, so it's not that one's being deprecated (to my knowledge at least) but that they serve two different purposes There's also the kde shutdown and pre-start/env dirs/paths, making four locations in total, each with its own purpose. -- Duncan - List replies preferred.
