Point is, the best I can do, is fire it off from rc.local, & have it sleep for 300 seconds, so I have time after logging in to get kmail going. It uses d-bus, and if kmail is not there to flush the d-bus message, all I can do is a killall mailwatcher (my launching script) and killall inotifywait, then restart mailwatcher. It will time out in 5 minutes and start a new inotifywait instance, and then I'm off to the races. If kmail had a facility to start this background task as one of the final things it does when it is launched, then a lot of this folderol could just go away. hmm, maybe it does, I just had a brain fart of an idea. Worth checking on at any rate. I'll advise if it works... ;) Thanks Duncan. -- Cheers, Gene "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
