How to configure trash?

Hi there!

When I delete any file to the trash, my backup drives spin up. This is
undesired. Why do they do this?
I went into the trash settings, and I see these directories listed:

/home
/data/med
/data/mp3
/backup/weird/med
/backup/weird/mp3

How can I configure this? I have no idea why those directories are chosen, I
have many more partitions, and they are not listed. What about them? How can
I add them so I can configure the maximum size? And how can I deactivate the
trash for the /backup/weird/* partitions?

I'm using KDE 4.6 on Gentoo Linux.
