They should, indeed, be confirmed.  But additionally, if I have
pressed the power button for a while or pressed control and then alt
and then shift and then page down and kept them pressed until the
sequence was complete, then I have ordered a shutdown.
Delay for ten or fifteen minutes for confirmation if you like,
but after that, shut down.  Period.  Full stop.
