mysql 5.1 is out now, and soon to be released for Gentoo ~arch users. The official mysql upstream upgrade documents talk about backing up the database, running a couple commands (repair-tables, basically) on it to do the upgrade, and going from there. But there's a problem. I haven't the foggiest where these databases are kept for kde/akonadi users -- it's obviously not a system database as I'm not starting a system service. And I don't know much about running the upgrade -- will the upstream upgrade docs work as-is once I feed them the correct path, or is there something special I need to do -- make sure akonadi's not running or something, maybe? Where's the KDE documentation on this? Surely they have some if they're using the mysql software, as they are.
