krdc missing system tray icon

List members -

  I am running KDE SC 4.4 RC 3, which I compiled on my laptop using
the kdesvn-build scripts.  In krdc if I select the option to 'enable
system tray icon' I get a blank space in my system tray where I would
expect to see the icon.  Any ideas on what might be causing this?
