To take a 'Q' for renaming KDE is a really good point ...
;o)
I would vote for "QDE" ...

CDE stands for Common Desktop Environment which is a Desktop for UNIX.

I think that the point was to make a free replacement for it.  However,
KDE wound up being more of a MS-Windows clone and another project has
become the replacement for the Common Environment (Xfce).

So, a change to CDE would not be possible although QDE is really more to
the point.
