If it is a Samba server not a broken Windows implementation of CIFS it will
most likely support symlinks. so you could symlink .kde to somewhere local
and the symlink .kde/share and .kde/apps back.

What if not? There is some patches for KDE to move sockets to another place? I can't find it in google )
