I've only just discovered this thread. I'm pleased to see there is still a lot of interest in reviving kuickshow. Whenever I post anywhere about it, I always know I'm going to receive replies suggesting I use gwenview or some other program - as far as I'm concerned, they may as well suggest Windows Picture and Fax Viewer! Yet it doesn't take much to find many threads where people are asking about kuickshow. It clearly has a lot of fans, and having a choice of way to do a particular tasks is what open source is all about. I'm glad to see Carsten is still interested in maintaining kuickshow. Is there really a KDE4 version, and has it been rewritten to run as a native qt4 application, or is it using compatibility libraries? After being told last year kuickshow was a dead project and wouldn't be ported to KDE4, I was considering doing it myself (after checking with the author). But it that's not necessary, great, as I don't know if I'd find the time. Ideally I'd like it to be packaged separately from kdegraphics or extragear so it's easy to build and install. It'd be great to have a kuickshow package added to the third party Red Hat/Fedora RPM repositories as Red Hat don't provide ImLib so kuickshow is never built. Anyway, count me in if there's any testing or other work that needs doing to kuickshow.
