In your case you could just create a file ~/.xbindkeys and write the following into it: "konsole" Control + o Then call xbindkeys (which you can of course automatically start when you login) and the shortcut will work. Make sure that the keyboard shortcuts you define are not bound by some other program. I also recommend reading the xbindkeys manpage.
