Re: Keyboard is read in gnome but not in kde

I do sincerely appreciate the information given here regarding my inability to type in a kubuntu session and I solved it with a rather bold move for a newbie. I can state without reservation that a newbie can be too curious and not cautious enough given their ability to comprehend the linux file system and navigation in general. So while I dearly love the kubuntu desktop for now I will for go that pleasure until I understand and appreciate all the nuances of gnome. The bold move I spoke of was re-partitioning, burning a 8.10 live CD and installing it with a firm resolve to stay in gnome until I become more proficient. A special thanks to Anne whom I have used as a crutch too much. And thanks to everyone else as this is truly a user friendly list

Interesting. I've assumed that he has the latest Kubuntu and that he would be using KDE4, but this may not be so. I'll ask about that.
