I have been ripping audio cd's to mp3 without problems until about 2 weeks ago. I can't for the life of me remember what I have done to break this, but probably updating something. Anyway, I get : command failed : /usr/bin/lame ..... Shortly after k3b starts ripping, as soon as the encoder is called. Assuming it was a problem with lame, I made a small shell script instead of lame and had k3b call my shell script instead of lame. That did not change anything - Same error. I don't do anything in my shell script, except for returning a return code. In the shell script I have returned various return codes to provoke a different behavior - no luck I have fiddled around with all options that even remotely smells like something - no luck Now if I rip the cd to wav - it works. if I rip the cd to Flac - it works But if i rip the cd using my own shell script or lame : command failed. So after fiddling for a week, how do I debug this thing ? Any suggestion as to what to test/debug is very much appreciated.. Lame and k3b has been reinstalled a couple of times as well, just to be sure. I am probably missing something simple, but right now I am stuck. Regards.
