Kmail errors when checking mail

[shinjii@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx]

im running KDE 4.1.2 on AMD64 and each time i try and check my email i get
an error window saying .. The Process for the pop3://pop3.server.name
protocol died unexpectedly.

Whats is causing this and how do i go about resolving this ?
