IIUC, the problem is that it is a KPart, not a NSPlugin so version 3.x.y will only work in Konqueror 3.x.y. OTOH, there is a NSPlugin for Xine so that would work. There is is also "Kaffeine-Mozilla" which I haven't tried yet.
