Write down every setting that you have in Thunderbird then compare them with 
the settings in kmail.  If you can't find any difference, post the settings 
here.  One common problem is the setting for whether your ISP requires 
authentication.  Sending a username and password if one is not required is as 
unproductive as not sending one when it is required.
