I checked the card in Windows, and it turns out that it is codepage862. Furthermore, the C: drives of all the Windows machines that Ichecked were all 862. Furthermore, the drive now automounts andappears with the correct filesystem encoding, that is, Hebrew lookslike Hebrew! I'm not sure what happened, as I did not change anythingon my computer and all I did to the card was check the codepage inwindows. Strange, but I'm not complaining. I'd still like to have areproducible fix, but in the meantime I'm happy.
